Great poster frame!
I’m setting up a new to me house in New Orleans. Of course I’m framing lots of jazz and Marsi Gras posters. I’m on a budget and have tried several brands in the past. Well the Americanflat frames rival much more expensive choices. The selection is good. The clips are screwed in, not just bendable tabs. The hanging device is very sturdy. I’ll never buy another brand!!!

Frame looks great and there are no reservations about the quality and appearance of the plexiglass as compared to a traditional, more expensive glass frame. The plexiglass comes with film to peel off on both sides to protect it from scratches or other damages during shipping and until you are ready to hang.Great quality for the price!

Cheap but works
This frame works really as a picture frame but it’s definitely not the most high end frame out there. I am not a far of the prongs in the back that hold the back on the frame. It is very cheaply made. It works but you can just tell its not made well.

Background: I’m a semi-pro photographer with more than 15 years of experience, and I have previously worked in a pro frame shop for a short period of time framing flat art of all sizes. I was looking for an inexpensive frame to replace damaged art in a high traffic area of our home.I purchased a 16×16 inch black frame with plexiglass glazing, and I’m overall happy with this purchase. The frame was well packaged and arrived safely two days after I ordered (with Amazon Prime). The plexiglass had a layer of film on either side to keep it protected and then the frame had styrofoam and cardboard protectors on the corners, was wrapped in plastic, and packaged inside a thin layer of styrofoam in a fitted box. IMO just enough packaging to protect the frame without being excessive. The frame is pre-strung with hangers to orient it vertically or horizontally (kind of unnecessary in this case since the frame is square) and comes with a wire hanger and instructions to attach it. The hanging wire provided is a thicker/stiffer than needed for this application and longer than needed so you do need wire cutters to trim it to size, but it works.Assembling the frame and installing my art was easy. The plexiglass is thin and flexes easily so it needs a little guidance to get it to sit square in the frame rabbet. My plexiglass had a couple small (about 1/4 inch) scratches about 2 inches from the edge (visible before I removed the protective backing), so not perfect but not too large or in a place where it would be conspicuous. The frame itself is nicely assembled, with two “staples” joining each corner and the corners well aligned and flush. You can see a slight seam at two of the corners since the material itself is not black all the way through, but this is only upon examining closely and not noticeable from viewing distance (I didn’t feel it required any touch up). I found the surface material of the frame to be nicely manufactured – no scratches, dings, bubbling, chips, or other imperfections. I believe the frame is sturdy enough to not warp over time, especially considering the overall light weight of the piece thanks to the plexi glazing.This is a cheap frame with thin plastic glazing. The materials are not archival, the glazing is not optical grade, and its less than $30 for the 16×16 size. For the price, I think it is a great option for inexpensively framing midsize art. If anything, I’d like to see felt or rubberized bumpers added to the package so that the corners of the frame don’t rest directly on the wall.The piece we wanted to frame was art that I had commissioned of our pup, and unfortunately the hanger supplied with the original frame failed and resulted in the piece falling to the ground, shattering the glass, breaking the frame, and scratching the original print. Because the art itself was damaged and I have the digital file to reprint it in the future if necessary, I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a replacement frame and wasn’t very concerned about having a perfect optical surface, and this was perfect for safely getting our picture back on our walls. Since the art hangs near our front door and we have a dog and a baby on the way, I actually liked the idea of using plexi and not having to worry about a repeat crash and shatter incident.I think this is a great buy for the money for inexpensive art, and the five star rating I have provided is reflective of the price point and expectations I had for this item. If you have a high value or one of a kind piece you want to last a long time, invest in professional framing and use archival materials and quality UV protective optical glass or acrylic to protect your artwork. If you just want to hang some cheap prints on your walls without spending a ton of money, this is a great option.

Very Cheap but Look Great
These are very cheap frames but they look great and are fantastic for art shows where you need to frame a bunch of stuff. I especially like how they show the actual size of the art that you can put in the frame without it getting cut off buy a half or quarter of an inch by the frame itself.

Packaged Very Well. My frame came in excellent condition. I have 7 dogs so the PLEXIGLASS was a big selling point! Both sides have a protective film so no scratches. Mounting brackets already attached so really easy to hang

This is the first time I write a review because I looked for a frame for months for a very special gift. Believe me I’m a perfectionist, I had my eyes on another handmade frame before this one and was devastated when the owner canceled my order last minute. Anyway I bought this frame as a backup plan but it ended up exceeding my expectations and looked even better than the frame I wanted before this one. I honestly wanted to take a picture to post in my review but I forgot and now I already gave it as a gift (sorry! Lol). Anyway I’ll list all the pros:-Looks just like the picture displayed (It’s a smooth frame with a good balance of shine and matt and looks very sophisticated)-Flexible Plexiglass thats hard to break and doesn’t glare light-Perfectly in line frame corners-Same exact size as advertised (I used it for an 18×24 inch poster)-Light weight-Easy to hang (has both side and top hooks to be used for hanging and comes with a wire to hang)-Safely packaged with not a single scratch or even the slightest damaged (by the way I shipped this to Saudi Arabia and was super worried it would arrive looking dodgy. It had foam in the box + extra protection on the corners to protect the frame itself and the plexiglass had a protector on both sides to be peeled off…it looked brand new)

Pretty pricey but unless you can get kmart manufacturers to make it you’ll never get it any cheaperKmart sells giant poster size frames at $20AUD (61×91.5cm) wayyy bigger then this, thats why china is so awesomeanything the price of this frame i just bought which as stated SMALLER than that kmart frame at a real custom frame company will be over $100-$200 bucks, wtf!!Also this frame size it too unique for australian measurements aswell, for years the poster i wanted to frame was left untouched, googling for the frame size i want, no options anywhere (yes i even tried amazon)But for some reason this year i tried amazon again, i found the size in the U.S AND it offered free international prime shippingTotally worth it, i dont care its pricey (over $60AUD) i can finally frame my poster and move on to other projectsP.S the clips that hold the back of the frame move side to side and screwed on, this is great, push them in or out and it frees the back or locks it inUnlike other backboards the clips dont get pulled back or pushed in which is great as they can get worn out and they can break

The frame looks great and was easy to put together however it is very Flimsy and fell apart as soon as it was hung. The clear plastic broke. Very disappointing for $100.
