Bad refrigerator but WORSE company
We replaced a 9 year old samsung with this unit as we have had good luck with some other LG appliances. -This was a major mistake. After 13 months of ownership, the ice-maker stopped producing ice and both refrigerator and freezer are not reaching their cooling setpoints. The ‘auto-magic’ diagnosis says everything’s fine, however, the fridge & freezer are 20+ degrees off their setpoints and the unit is running constantly consuming 2-3x its normal power use. My initial call to LG was on 4/25/22, it has taken approximately 22 hours worth of phone calls and 5 weeks to arrive at them offering to refund our purchase due to “unable to locate a repair facility in your area”. The entire time we have been worried to keep food in the appliance as it can swing to temps as high as 50 degrees. Words cannot express how awful their customer service has been. If it were not for our impeccable record-keeping, I’m certain we would have been out the 4+ thousand dollar purchase price as we were told, after even presenting a copy of the credit card receipt that they would require further proof of purchase and attempted to reject further warranty proceedings. -Luckily, we had all documentation from Home Depot and were able to provide it. (LG insisted that the proof be provided via SMS/MMS) We are now at the point where they have provided an offer via email for refunding our purchase and are requesting further proof of purchase and requiring that we remove the label with serial #, cut it in half and provide photographic evidence of same. We have an extended warranty, which we purchased through LG, however, it is actually asurion, which went into effect in March, that was over $600 on top of the original 4k appliance. Upon inquiring as to whether that additional 36 month warranty would be refunded, we’re being told that because they are going to convert that warranty/policy, it would not be refunded. -In short; LG attempts to scam you in any manner that they see an opportunity. DO NOT PURCHASE ANY LG PRODUCTS!!!!

Lower drawer freezer does not work

Dead after 6 years, not worth fixing
Fridge failed to cool about 18 months ago. Was told to plug and unplug and it actually worked, until yesterday. Now dead as a doornail. Freezer is 40 degrees; fridge is room temp. Based on all the reviews/complaints seems to be all too common. This $3500 fridge is not worth fixing, getting a new GE next week. I am done with LG. Reputable local appliance retailer with in-house service refuses to service. Break all the time and parts are very scare and slow in coming. Pity really, it is a great form factor.

Dream crushed with this model LG fridge
The pros of this fridge is the beautiful design. It is really an absolutely gorgeous design. Everything is perfect except the basic function of a fridge….keeping food cold to safe levels. Ours was a lemon from delivery day. The fridge even after 48 hours was erratic and 45 degrees. The saving grace was the two drawers that did work well BUT the fridge made an airplane take off and landing sound each time the lower drawer was shut. Not sure what that was but we were not keeping this pretty lemon so it didn’t matter what. My advice to LG is to focus on the basic temp stability with one compressor and evaporator to each section to get FAST recovery times after opening the doors for a few minutes. RECOVERY TIME is what counts in French door fridges not just beauty. If LG put as much time as they did to design the looks into its primary cooling function this would be the best on the market. But they failed here on our unit. There is no way to get great recovery times or consistency with one compressor on a super large 30 size fridge like this. Back to the drawing board LG and focus on RECOVERY TIME and TEMP STABILITY. Basics need perfected or it’s a lemon and horribly disappointing because it is so alluring.

bad product bad customer service
We bought an LG refrigerator (LRMDS3006S/00) in October 2020 from ELECTRONIC EXPRESS. In August 2021 the ice maker stopped working. We called the number listed for the warranty and a week later a repair man (from A&E Factory Service) was here, did not know anything about this model of refrigerator. He called a number and was talked through what to check, they decided a new ice maker and main power circuit board was needed. was told the replacement parts will be shipped to our home and someone would be back on 8/26 to install the parts. No parts were delivered and nobody from A&E showed up or called to cancel. On august 28 the refrigerator stopped cooling or freezing and remains broken still (almost a month later) and each of the follow up phone calls that my wife or I have made has been an exercise in futility. The LG people at least answer the phone but they do little more than keep us on hold or say that someone from corporate will contact us, Has NOT Happened. The A&E people are worse they either not answer the phone or have a automated system that asks a few questions and then thanks you and ends the call. Looking at the reviews for A&E I do not suppose I should expect anything more from them. I COULD NOT BE MORE DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS ALMOST 3000 DOLLAR REFRIGERATOR THAT QUITS WORKING AT 10 MONTHS OLD AND A MANUFACTURER THAT APPARENTLY DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THIER PRODUCT. Out of curiosity I searched online at parts suppliers for the main circuit board and found that it was out of stock at every site I checked, makes me worded if there is defective parts in the refrigerator and LG has not got the integrity to issue a recall. In my opinion do not waste your money on LG Products.
