    Great design, hope it lasts
Took a risk and bought this before it had any reviews. I did not see any noticeable quality difference between the glass top Frigidaire electric cook top it replaced. The wiring all looks up the code and matched the existing unit I had. The cooktop installed smoothly. If the spacers that attach to the sides are a bit of a challenge the get lined up when dropping the unit into place, just try and prebend them a little. It really will not work with any pots and pans that do not pass the magnet test. I had some cheap “cast iron” that was gifted to me and it would not work on them – I checked with a magnet, and I guess they are made of aluminum or something. Just check your pots or do like I did and order nice ones with the cost savings of this unit over something from the big box stores.I had no issues with the interface, it is very straight forward and the manual it is very well done with pictures and clear instructions on the basic functions. It is as simple as – press the burner symbol and the press the number on the number pad – super simple. I even got the timing function to work for turning the burner off after a set time. While induction is known for boiling water quickly, I was worried about the smoothness of low temperature operation. On my previous electric cooktop it would cycle once every 10-20 seconds full heat /no heat to achieve lower temperatures – this caused all kinds of trouble and it was just about unusable. On the BiGoods unit the heating is extremely smooth, better than the newer gas cooktop I last used that had 3-4 steps of heat to choose from and where you had to match the burner to the use case and pot. Here I can use any burner and dial it in easily. The simmer button is also very useful. I will point out that it will heat metal handles if you place a small pot on the large burner where the handle is in the burner heating area, but it did not seem to get near as hot as the bottom of the pan – just something to watch for. When heating the unit does make humming noises and the sound of a fan or something comes on as well. Not loud and not really a bother, I find it useful as you can tell that it is working.Overall I an very happy and would recommend this product. The price is low enough that even if it goes out early the cost the replace is still low. If this lasts for 5-10 years I would be ecstatic, but if it only lasts for 2 it is still a better deal than paying 5 times the price for a more well known brand.

Nice inexpensive induction cooktop (BP-DCL12, 30 inch 4 burner cooktoop)
Pros:- Heats quickly- Installs easily- Inexpensive- Intuitive controls- No knobs for food to get stuck underCons:- Element shuts off if pan removed for 30 seconds- Requires induction cookwareMy partner and I purchased this to replace our Whirlpool electric (non-induction cooktop). Our main complaint with the Whirlpool was that it took forever to heat, even on its highest setting. This induction cooktop heats much faster. It can boil a small pot of water in a few minutes. When doing research on induction cooktops, we came across a video claiming that the induction elements in inexpensive cooktops were all small (6 inches), leading to cooking problems in the periphery of the pan. This does not appear to be a problem with the large element on this cooktop. The first thing I cooked on it were crepes in a 12 inch pan. The outer portion of the crepes cooked thoroughly; though the outer 1 inch or so were not as brown as the inner part of the crepe. Thermal photos of the 12 inch pan after a few seconds of heating show the relative size of the heating elements. The front right (small) element heats a small section of the pan; the rear right (large) element heats a much larger section of the pan. Overall, I’m satisfied with this cooktop’s ability to heat a 12 inch pan.The left side of the cooktop has a “sync” feature that allows you to control the two left burners with the same settings. This is for griddles, or pans that you might want to span two burners. The manual suggests there is a “bridge” element. To me this sounded like there was another heating element between the two burners to heat the center of the griddle. Based on thermal pictures of a pan spanning the two left burners (in “sync” mode”), I don’t see any heat from a third element. The heat on the left appears to come only from the two elements drawn on the surface. The specs for this don’t the element wattage; however the included manual does. Both left elements are 1850W, 2100W in “boost” mode. The large right rear element is 2500W, 3200W in “boost” mode. The small right front element is 1200W, 1600W in “boost” mode. When heating there is a buzzing sound. Not too loud, but worth mentioning. When making crepes, I often take the crepe pan off the burner to either serve them or flip the crepe. At one point while doing this the element shut off. Having to turn the element back on in the middle of cooking was a little annoying; 60 seconds would be ideal. The controls are straightforward. Press the burner button, then press the cooking level. There are also preset levels for certain cooking styles, and an “All Off” button. In my opinion, the touch controls make the cooktop much easier to clean than one with knobs. As with any induction stove, not all cookware is compatible with this. If a magnet doesn’t stick to the pot, this won’t heat it. If you’ve looked into induction stoves this isn’t surprising, but again worth mentioning. We’ve had this stove a total of 24 hours and have used it to boil water for tea and make crepes. The crepes cooked evenly and the water boils really fast. We’re really happy we bought this cooktop.

Looks and works great! VERY happy with this purchase
I had ordered an expensive name brand induction cooktop from a local branch of a national hardware chain with a delivery date the following week. After waiting nearly 4 weeks I canceled that order and found this unit while searching Amazon. I had often wondered why the price of a 4-place induction cooktop was grossly higher (typically) than the price of four individual portable units but then saw the price of this unit and thought “well – someone offers a fair deal finally”! In my case the installation was a bit wicked due to the requirement for cutting marble, but the installation went smoothly and the cooktop performs beautifully. We are extremely happy with this purchase and would highly recommend the unit.

    Not recommended
I bought this cooker to replace my old gas stove, and I had very high expectations for it. However, it has been extremely disappointing. The heating speed is okay, but once it gets hot, the temperature control is not very precise. It feels like the temperature is not hot enough, and when cooking larger quantities of food, it’s very slow, resulting in food that doesn’t taste good. The overall workmanship of this cooker also feels rather cheap and flimsy. I need to return it.
