Get this for your studio kitchenette!
This review is for the person living in a tiny studio with no real kitchen. Maybe a mini fridge, microwave, toaster oven if you’re fancy, but no real stove. You’re in a studio so it’s not exactly like you got a large disposable income so you’ve been looking at those $25 ceramic burners. It’ll do you guess. It’ll probably take about 20 mins to heat to a boil and take forever to cool but it could be fine. But then you stumble on this fancy thing. And let me tell you she’s fancy. She boils water in 3 mins, is super easy to clean, and cools down quickly with the built in cooling fan.Okay in all honesty, I bought both this and the ceramic burner and tested them both. This induction stove is leaps better.Super fast heating15-30 min cool time to put awayRelatively quiet fanSmooth surface to wipe cleanThin profile to store awayIt makes scrambling my eggs, making my grilled cheeses, and moka pot coffee a breeze for this bachelorette.I’ve never been someone with money to throw away, but I do know there are some things worth making an investment in and this is one of them.

Nice adjunct burner
I recently purchased a new electric smooth top electric range. This replaced a 20 year old smooth top range that had a worn looking cook top. Because I really would like to keep the cook top of the new range looking good, I thought it might be a good idea to buy a portable burner when making messy dishes. I chose this induction model because it matches well with my new range and I already have mostly induction compatible cookware plus the price is relatively reasonable. If you are not sure if your cookware is compatible, hold a magnet on the bottom of the cookware. If the magnet doesn’t stick, the cookware will not work with this burner.I don’t have any other induction burners to make a direct comparison, so I am rating this on it’s own. This is a budget burner, so it doesn’t have as wide a range of temperature and power levels as more expensive models, but I don’t know if most people really need that. When you first plug this in, the power button blinks continuously and the fan will come on. All of these induction burners have a fan and it is somewhat noisy, but it doesn’t bother me while cooking. If you think the noise of a fan might be bothersome, then you might not want to buy an induction type. The cooktop will not function until you place an induction compatible pot, pan or skillet on top. Once your cookware is in place, push the power button. The power button led light will go solid and bring up the six presets on the lcd screen. To select a preset, press the menu button to scroll through the presets. When you reach the preset you want, stop pressing the menu button and that preset will be selected and engage within 5 seconds. If you would rather cook by temperature, just repeatedly select the temperature button until that temperature is displayed on the lcd screen. There are 9 temperature presets and 9 possible power levels. There isn’t a dedicated power level button and the only way to choose from power levels 1 to 9 is to first select the Stir-Fry preset which allows you to select any of the power levels. The cons of this burner: When plugged in, but not in use the power button will blink continuously. For that reason I only plug it in when I’m going to use it. Even though this burner has 4 legs, only the 2 on the rear are rubberized on the bottom; the front 2 are just molded plastic which lets the burner slide more easily than I would like. At higher power levels I can hear a high frequency squeal which doesn’t really bother me, but some people might find objectionable. When you first push the temp button, the highest setting of 465 is selected. I think it would be better if a lower setting was the default, but not a big deal. On the pro side, I think this is a nice looking burner. It is priced right and provides all of the basic functions that I was looking for. It heats up very quickly and cools down very quickly. Because the glass top isn’t directly heated, it is less likely to get burned on messes. It cleans easily. The one thing I don’t know about is it’s durability, but it does come with a 2 year warranty. So far I like it and am learning the quirks of induction cooking. I would recommend it.

A good spare for if/when the cooktop in the RV goes out.
Tried it several times in the house and am mostly pleased. Heats up quickly and is super easy to clean. The temperature control is my only issue. Adjusts easily, but only in increments of +/- 50 degrees?? I think I’ve read through the instructions correctly. I don’t know, maybe I am missing something. Getting better control of the temps would remove any issues I am having, as everything else about the unit I love.

AVOID this companies products – READ!
this was a bad product to begin with, it seems like the company shipped them out regardless.this is was not my first portable induction cooktop, my 3rd actually.none of my pans would work on this, it would show an error after running for a minute or so at most and then cutoff. i wrote the company and the asked me to send some photos, so i sent a few of the error code that came up, then they told me it was broken (obviously) and i would get a refund if i made a video of me cutting the cable on it.i had just moved into my new space, i owned one kitchen knife and i definitely wasnt going to be easy for me to start cutting thru the cable on here (it was thicker), it also would have been dangerous to try to saw thru this thick cable, i am not a content creator, i dont have time to make you videos of me sawing cables off your faulty malfunctioning devices.i would have rather just had my amazon account refunded or sent another one.i wouldnt buy any other products this compay offers, you can get much better products from a company like NUWAVE in the same price range.AVOID!

I love my Crux Countertop Induction Burner
I am very happy with my Crux Counter-top Induction Burner. I had been thinking about trying one for awhile and then this one came up for sale at a great price. I decided to give it a go. It heats up very fast, takes up very little counter space and is easy to clean. Sure, you need pans that work but I had a small sauce pan and a small fry pan and they work just fine. All you need is a magnet if you have to check to see if pans will work or not. No big deal. This is the perfect little burner for me. Easy to use. Easy to clean. Easy to store. Just right. I would recommend.

I actually read the description before buying!
I’ve used it every day for 7 months. Before purchasing, I love the fact that by taking a magnet off my refrigerator door, I was able to make sure all my stainless steel pots and pans had bottoms to which the magnet would attach. If the magnet WON’T attach, then the Induction Stove won’t work. Pretty simple test that a bunch of 1-Star buyers could have avoided the “It Don’t Work” problem. Boils water very quickly at 465 degrees and I use the 175 degree and 140 degree setting since the unit runs hotter than temperatures listed in the instructions.
