Pleased with this Cool Cooktop
My kitchen is small and my electric stove throws too much heat. So happy I found this unit. Works great. As some other reviewers have mentioned, it does make a pulsing noise but in my experience noise reduces with pot/pan placement adjustment and isn’t bothersome. It works really well and doesn’t throw heat around. During operation, area around perimeter of cooktop stays largely cool since heat is efficiently transferred to pots/pans. Still adjusting to it shutting off when I lift the pan while cooking but it’s a nice safety feature and it comes back on once contact is restored. Enjoying the timer function more than I expected too. Looks nice and easy to clean.

Superlative Alternative Cooktop
I must admit that I was dubious when I purchased this cooktop, but after I prepared my first meal using it I was convinced that we were going to have a long-lasting, happy relationship. This induction cooktop is closer to cooking with gas than it is to cooking with electricity. I know that sounds impossible, but I feel it is true. I had just come from a very nice home with an excellent gas range to temporary housing with a dreadfully outdated and dangerous gas cooktop, and I needed something better. After several unsuccessful attempts at getting the cooktop replaced, I simply bought this induction cooktop and a set of Vremi induction cookware. It was an excellent pairing, and I am here to say that this cooktop heats so very quickly that it is like cooking with gas. The burners temperatures are easily regulated and each even has its own built-in timer. The surface is an entirely smooth one, and it is quite easy to clean with a soft cloth and a foaming cleaner–nothing harsh! I highly recommend this product to anyone who has limited space and wants a GREAT cooktop that simply sits on the counter and plugs into a 110 outlet. It has the advantage of being able to be moved as needed. I love it, and plan to take it with me when I move to my permanent dwelling (despite the fact that I shall have a regular gas range there).

Has held up very well to four years of constant use
We bought this cooktop four years ago. Overall it’s been a powerful workhorse, used at least once if not four or five times a day for our family of four. We’ve made huge pots of soup and endless pasta, made pancakes on two cast iron pans at once, seared tofu deliciously, quickly stir-fried vegetables in our big wok, delicately caramelized onions, and deep-fried latkes and doughnuts. The glass has never chipped, and no one’s ever burnt a finger or accidentally toasted a wooden spoon the way we did back when we cooked with gas. That said, since we’ve had it for so long I’ve had the opportunity to test its durability. Over time the plastic edges on the sides haven’t held up as well as the glass cooktop itself. Cracks developed after a couple of years and now several pieces of the plastic on the left side have broken off. This hasn’t compromised its safety or prevented us from using it but it’s probably not an issue you’d run into with a cooktop with a completely glass top or a metal surround. We’ve also run into some technical bugs – an occasional beep when it’s not in use, whether something is on top of it or not, and more recently, an issue where when you turn it on, the right side beeps, blinks the word “off,” then has to be turned on again. Given that it’s endured such heavy use these too are not big problems. Sound-wise, it’s not super loud on its own but if you’re also using a ventilation hood, the combined noise level can be pretty high. Note that it will work best for you and stay quiet if you periodically turn it over and clean the vents/fan grills on the bottom; these can get dusty and greasy if neglected and that dust can produce a burning smell, and, I imagine, an eventual safety issue. If you’ve never used a double burner induction stove before, note that the overall power is limited so that if you are using both sides, you won’t be able to work them both at their maximum capacity (with this unit, that’s a level 8 on the left, level 5 on the right). This can be an issue if you’re, say, trying to bring a big pot to boil on the left, while quickly pan-frying something on the right, so if you’re accustomed to cooking with gas, you’ll need to be a little more thoughtful about your pan sizes and how you time things. Highly recommend this unit though, whether you’re new to induction cooking or not – it gives you a lot of power and great results, for a very reasonable price. We’ve absolutely loved it.

Just OK
I have been using a Max Burton Induction burner for 8 or 9 years and have loved everything about it. There have been times when I could 2 burners so my husband bought this 2 burner one.CONS: The big side goes up to 8 heating level but the small size only goes to 5 so it takes longer to cook on that side. Also on my Max Burton, I could set the timer and when time was up the burner shut off. Not this one though. I set the timer and it beeps when times up but it continues to cook. I sent an email to Cuisinart and they answered right away. I asked them why it didn’t shut off. They said it did but the fan just runs for awhile. Well, the food continues to bubble so I know that’s not right.I probably will just keep it. I’m sure it won last as long as my Max Burton.

Excellent quality and as advertised.
This is the 3rd one I’ve purchased over probably at least 15 years, and I love it. Even bought one for my mother. Easy to control cooking temperature and time as you cook, and so easy to clean. I use it all the time and actually prefer it to my regular stove. Finally a product that does what is advertises and is top quality! Thank you Cuisinart!

excellent quality, name brand with US ETL & UL certifications
Very easy to use controls, sturdy, very easy to clean; unlike the made-up/fictitious name unit I previously ordered with difficult controls and variable results and NO US certifications at all!!! When running, it smelled of burning electrical components! The Cuisinart had no odor. It is also made in China but to Cuisinart and US specifications. Stick with name brands in appliances!

Weak and useless
We tried cooking on this multiple times with induction cookware. Does not heat up much. Tried frying eggs and it wouldn’t cook through the eggs. Only good for warming

This is an additional cooktop which can be used even in the garage or inside gazebo to avoid filling your house with different smells of searing bacon or onion or others.

Still learning. I have made poached eggs, heated up soups and pasta sauce, browned meat, brazed vegetables and meats.
