About Secura

SECURA is a leading North American small appliance manufacturer. Our products are sold under the SECURA and Duxtop brands. Our products are top sellers on many online shopping sites as well as in several large national retail stores.

PORTABLE INDUCTION BURNER: Duxtop induction cooktop uses 110/120 V 15 amp electrical outlet–standard in all North American homes. ETL listed and built to North American electrical standards. It is lightweight and compact for easy handling and storage
Choose from 20 preset power levels (100 to 1800 W) and 20 preset temperature level settings (100 °F to 460 °F). With an 83% energy efficiency, induction burner is more efficient than traditional gas or electric stoves
DIGITAL LCD SENSOR: Touch control panel: child safety lock keeps the cooking and timer settings from being accidentally changed once they have been set; fast boil button; keep warm button (for 1-30 minutes at 140 °F); up to 10-hour timer button
Induction stoves rely on cookware to heat, so it’s essential to choose magnetic bottom cookware with a minimum diameter of 5 inches. Auto-pan detection will shut off automatically after 60 seconds if no cookware, or the incorrect cookware is detected
Although induction itself is a noiseless process, there may be high pitched sounds from the cookware due to multiple layers of metals sandwiched together. Please allow the induction cooker to cool down before cleaning

Love this induction burner, replaced our gas stovetop
We got this induction burner to try out induction cooking and see if it could be a viable replacement for our propane gas stovetop. We had been seeing a lot of news articles about propane and natural gas leaking cancer-causing chemicals into the house, and we wanted to transition away from using propane anyway because our tank needed to be replaced. The burner is very easy to use, and the instructions were excellent at helping us learn how to cook with induction. My favorite aspect is that the heat level can be selected using specific numbers. When we later looked for built-in induction cooktops, we found that many of them lacked this wonderful feature, so we decided to just continue using this portable cooktop instead of installing one, and bought a second portable induction cooktop from this same brand, which we also love. There are a few downsides which were not enough of a big deal to us to outweigh the benefits:As other reviews mention, there is a high-pitched humming noise when the unit is heating up. Some of our family members, particularly children, were greatly bothered by this in the beginning, while adults who don’t hear as well noticed it but weren’t bothered by it much. The noise pitch and volume seems to vary depending on the type of cookware used–generally, more ferrous materials such as cast iron seem to make less noise, and nonstick pans that just have a layer of metallic surface on the bottom made the most noise. We found it’s much more usable with a silicone mat–otherwise the pan can easily slide around on the cooktop, particularly when you’re boiling water and it splashes over the sides. There is a slight learning curve to cooking with induction, but as a pretty functional family “cook” who makes just simple dishes, I found it very intuitive. Much of the challenge was that I decided to also learn how to cook with cast iron at the same time, and that also has its own learning curve, which I found to be steeper than cooking with induction. Many people we’ve shared our positive induction experience with are incredulous that we were okay with buying all new cookware, but we used this as an opportunity to clear out a lot of the cookware clutter from our kitchen. We found we really only ever used a few pans anyway, and we were happy to have an excuse to replace our cookware that had scratches in the nonstick coating, which likely wasn’t good for us to keep using anyway.I would highly recommend this induction burner to anyone looking to try out cooking with induction, relatively inexpensively. We’ve had it for a year, using it several times a week usually, and it has always performed consistently well.

Durable, Easy to Use, and cheap
I would recommend this induction cooktop to anyone except my worst enemy. Bought this April 27, 2022 for $112.82. 1800 W is powerful but not so powerful it throws a 15 amp kitchen breaker. Keep in mind this is an induction cooktop so cheap cookware without the proper base wont work with it.We bought the 3 year extended warranty knowing we were going to have heavy use with this and looks like we wont need it in the end.We have used this at least over 500 times in about 3 years in our kitchen as a sub for our sub-par old built-in induction cooktop from the 90s that is too small to put a big pot of boiling water on and cost over $3k to replace with something better. This cooktop has always worked great. For dishes needing high heat it is much better than out regular electric stovetop. It has 2 useful temperature options – 0 to 10 in .5 increments, or a temperature setting from low 100s for keeping warm, or higher to 375+ to frying some homemade cut fries – it does in fact do it all. We have sauteed, fried, stir fried, blackened, made many gravies and sauces on this. This is seriously worth the money if your cooktop is weak and/or too small. It used to be the sidekick, now it is the main squeeze.I did hours of research. This is the one. From my experience with this single product from this company, I would ignore the other marketing claims other cooktops on Amazon make. Duxtop is an established company, not a fly by night company selling cheap wares designed to fail.

    Awesome
Its is great little cooking appliance. I have been using it for months now. It is good value for money. I have been using it for about a year now. I have never had any issue with it. It is easy to clean. 10 heating settings and you can also set temperature. It has timer so if I am going out of kitchen, I set the timer so that I don’t burn the dish. It works perfectly. You can only use induction cookware on it. Not very heavy and not too big.

Powerful and useful – with some limitations
I bought this ahead of a hot pot/fondue party we were having. I pre-tested several pots on this, and found it worked well with a medium sized cast iron sauce pan. It is able to boil water in no time, much faster than my gas stove can do, and it has useful temperature settings – either by power level or by a built-in temp sensor that kept water consistently at different temps. However, the day of the party, we quickly found that the built-in temp sensor did not work well with the low density of cheese like it did with water, and we ended up burning the first batch. We switched things up and instead used it for hot broth cooking, and it did very well – until about 45 minutes into the party when it suddenly shut down due to overheating circuits. It came back up after a few minutes, and kept going, but that limit is good to know.Summary: Powerful, dynamic induction cooking burner that works well, but not at high temp for extended periods of time. Outside of a fondue application, nobody would boil something at high temp for over 45 minutes. If you’re cooking something for that long, you’re usually lowering it to a simmer by that time and this thing would never overheat. That’s why I’m giving it a high rating – it was never meant to be a hot pot cooker, it’s a stovetop substitute, and for that it works well.

one of most used kitchen related stuff now
This was one of my prime day deal purchases, my husband was so opposed to buying this at first, but after couple use he loves it!it works well, definetely worth the price compared to other more expensive versions.it’s a little thicker and larger than I’d like but I can store it in my pantry/laundry room, slided in the little awkward gap that I have..It heats up the food very well, I love that you can have either temperature control or the intensity? control.I use the temp setting the most.Great for hotpot/shabu/even k-style bbq on dinning table.I wish the power cord was little longer though

I have been on the look out for a good quality, portable, stove-top.This electric stove-top is a great quality, heats up quick. Keeps the heat steady. I have cooked on it multiple times already & I’m very happy with this product. In addition, it has a timer setting. Very useful timer setting, I use while boiling eggs & cooking chicken.

This is a great unit for quick and portable cooking needs. I use a 10″ cast iron frying pan with it 95% of the time and it heats up and works very well. The heat control is amazing and works as designed. I never have to worry about overheating, it maintains the perfect temperature once the cast iron is heated (takes about 8-10 mins). As a result, my eggs turn out perfectly and the exact same way every time without drying them out or having them stick. It works very well with pots as well. The quick boil and other features are handy. Again, very simple to use. It’s also very easy to clean the top and it’s nice and light weight for easy storage.Overall, after a few months or almost daily use, I have no complaints. It’s a little pricier then the other Duxtop models, but having more heat control is worth it I think, depending on your cooking needs.

This is my second induction cooktop and I have used at least 5 brands of induction cooktops. The first one is over 10 years old and still works fine, but needed another. This unit has some real important features:- fan stays on after cooktop turned off – important for long life and to cool cook surface- 20 heat settings – a big deal if you like to cook- thicker electrical cable – thinner cords melt with heavy use at high temperature settingsSome of the reviews of this product spoke negatively of the fan in the unit. Compared to other units I’ve used, this product is quieter and uses the fan more effectively. There’s no economical way of getting around a fan in an induction cooktop.Compared to other induction cooktops, this one is just as fast at boiling water and has the same heat pattern. One improvement that would make the product easier to clean is to have a single surface for the cooking surface and the control area. The seam between these two surfaces on this unit will require additional attention for cleaning. This would not stop me from buying another unit, but the change would make it better. There is a good manual. It would be even better if it supported additional languages other than English or at least provided links to a website that offers manuals in different languages.Have only used for a few days, but appears to be a quality product of good value. Time will tell.Update: Have used this everyday since purchase and one thing to be careful of is how easy it is to put the unit in boil mode (highest power for 10 minutes). The buttons on the touch panel can accidentally be activated when moving a hand or arm over the panel.
