Solid No Wires Solution
Easy to set up. I love that it is battery powered (supposedly 6 months on a charge, (we’ll see). Easy to install either with 2 screws or an included adhesive pad. My one complaint so far is that it went into some kind of panic mode when I turned it sideways and the software had no further info or action to take and I had to power the cam down to get it to stop. There’s an SD card slot for archive and motion detection alerts as well as voice exchange. The materials seem very nice and solidly assembled. I do wish I could integrate this with my other smart home apps instead of having to sign up for yet another account on another app and then have to remember all of those details in the future.

Pretty Good Camera
This is a review of the GearIT Smart Video Doorbell Camera. It’s a pretty good item.As doorbell cameras go, this one falls below the better, more expensive “brand name” ones, and above the cheaper quality ones. No big surprise there. It was no problem installing it. It actually replaced a camera I got a few months ago (a more expensive one too). It works OK, but the camera picture quality could be better. Bottom line, it does an acceptable job of what was expected. My verdict: 4 stars.

Great Video Doorbell camera, but there’s some audio delay and I can’t change view dates!
Seems there’s something wonky in all of these camera apps. This app, AuraHome, won’t let me change dates. When I go into Playback, I’m placed at midnight of the current day. I click on the calendar, and it acts like there is no activity on any day. When I click on an active day (according to it won’t take me there. I can bang on dates all day long, but I can only access the current day. I am using an older iPhone (6s+, and an Android 10 mobile – same on both), so that may have something to do with it, but the other features work as they should so I dunno…However, this video doorbell camera really excels at catching great face shots of anyone or anything within range! I’ve got clear, identifiable shots of everyone who crossed my threshold! That’s better than the new cameras did! I’m grateful I live in a corner because it also catches most vehicles that go by! But this could be a good thing, too.I love that they included an adapter that tilts the doorbell slightly. This gives me a better view. And I love that it has an anti-dismantling alarm. I forgot to turn it off once. It works! What I don’t like is how easily the tiny screwhead that holds the 2 plastic pieces together stripped and even slipped through the hole. The other one is holding, and I think I’m done moving it around so fingers crossed. The pictures are clear day or night, but while it’s in absolute direct sunlight there’s a bit of glare. I made a little shield that cuts it down but my first attempt is pretty crude. That’s what you see on the left side of some of the pictures. It would be nice if it came with an optional plastic sunshade to cut down that glare. Maybe something mostly transparent? It’s under $50, and would be a great value if they can work out that bug with the calendar to review previous days. Pretty please? It’s still worth it for the face shots worthy of a police report! It surprised me when I just now looked at the “alarms” from this past week when nobody rang the bell.

Works good
The GearIT Smart Video Doorbell Camera is a great product, and here’s why. First, it’s got motion detection, which is super handy. I get notifications whenever anyone approaches the door, so I always know when to answer it. Second, the picture quality is stellar, and the two-way talk function works great for when I’m not available to open the door for guests. Third, it’s super easy to use, so no matter how tech-savvy you are, you can set it up with no hassle. Fourth, the app that comes with the doorbell is simple and does everything you need it to do. Lastly, you can access the camera from anywhere, meaning that when you’re out and about, you can always keep a lookout and answer the door. If you’re considering getting a smart doorbell, then I can’t recommend this one enough. It’s a great value for what you get, and it’s easily one of the best on the market.

Easy to install, but a few issues
The doorbell cam didn’t come with much instruction, however, luckily, it was easy to install and set up. It comes with everything needed to charge and install (double sided tape and mounting screws for the housing, and then a small screw to hold the doorbell inplace in the housing. The install does seem to request a lot of access which I’m not sure it needs (Bluetooth, access to other devices on the network, photos, etc.) so I need to learn more about why. Since it doesn’t require wiring, you can put it anywhere very easily. The image is fantastic during the day and pretty good at night as well. The audio is clear, and the responsiveness is good. When you ring the doorbell, it rings on the phone within about 2 seconds. The biggest challenge is unlocking the phone in time to answer before it hangs up so I need to see if I can configure something to make that better. The “playback” is okay, but I’m finding it a bit of a challenge to scroll through the event times on some of the screens.

Easy to set up
This doorbell camera is small and compact. It’s quite small, slim, and compact, so it should fit in nearly any space, or on just about any door. The appearance of the doorbell camera is very modern and sleek. The installation is super easy. You remove the camera itself from the backing, and attach it with two screws. Then, you just insert the camera into the backing and it holds securely. This product comes with all the hardware you need for the installation. It also comes with a tiny screwdriver to help you install the very small screws. It is very, very easy to lose the tiny screws. This product is from an American company, based in California, at least according to their website, so it should be regulated by U.S. laws, however, the hardware itself is made in China. You do have to get an app to use this.
