Instant Pot Ceramic Inner Slow Cooking Pot 6-Qt, Non-Stick Coated Interior, Rice Cooker

Just what I had hoped it would be
This is an aluminum pot with great heat distribution with a ceramic non-stick coating on the inside and outside so that no bare aluminum is showing except a thin ribbon at the top edge where it is milled. This coating is completely unrelated to Teflon Brand and all its fluoro chloro chemical relatives. This pot allows me to saute, brown and seer things I can hold in waiting to add in after the other ingredients are done pressure cooking. This pot is great for par-steaming and then crisping and browning pot stickers and gyoza without sticking. This is by far easier to clean than the stainless steel insert that came with my Instant-pot, which I have to use Bon Ami on to get the unsightly protein residue off. This just wipes clean with a drop of Dawn dish detergent and a soft wet dish rag. I have NOT yet used this pot under pressure because that is not how I envisioned using it. For batch cooking it’s just the best. At $16.99 plus tax this was a great value for such a work horse of a pot. This insert fits my 6 Quart Instant-Pot Nova Plus.

Great for rice and starchy foods.
Great for cooking rice and starchy foods. This is an aluminum pot with a ceramic coating, not an actual crockery liner. I found it works great for cooking rice and other starchy foods that tend to stick. I’d not recommend if for searing meats or other high temperature applications that stainless is better suited for. These ceramic liners aren’t recommended for add-on air fryer lids, either. The ceramic coating will last longer if you handwash it, use soft utensils such as silicone for it, and avoid using it for any high-heat applications like air frying or searing meats. I have no complaints with the quality or usefulness of this optional ceramic-coated liner. I bought it in 3qt size, and I use that 3qt liner for pot-in-pot cooking in my 6 and 8 qt IPs, as well as a nonstick liner for my 3qt.

Fits in the farberware pressure cooker! Only issue is it was a bit sticky when arrived but seems to be better with a wash and use.

In an apartment with limited kitchen space, the Instant Pot has proven to be a fantastic purchase. Pressure cooking and slow cooking tougher meats for use in curries and soups, and rice cooking, all in one device.This ceramic pot is not quite non-stick, but it is way better for rice than using the standard stainless steel pot. We have yet to use it for anything else, but we bought this ceramic pot instead of a good quality rice cooker after our experience with using the Instant Pot for rice.We’ve only ever had cheap rice-cookers, so a comparison between using an Instant Pot and an expensive ($100 plus) rice cooker is not something I can give you.I can say, however, that the rice we produce from the Instant Pot has a great chewiness that I have never experience in a restaurant. And with the same washing, and then rice to water ratio (1:1), we get consistently great results.I’m sure it’s possible to use the “keep warm” option on the Instant Pot, but any additional heat takes the rice too far and it loses the chewiness, so we always take the rice out of the pot after cooking.You don’t need to scrub, with a nylon scrubbing sponge, this ceramic pot the same way you do with the stainless steel, food residue lifts off quite easily. And you don’t need to use vinegar to remove the white marks that the stainless steel pot has after cooking.
