Quality with Great Instructions
Note: I won’t be able to install this until next weekend, but I took everything out of the package and reviewed the installation instructions to be prepared. I will update again once it’s fully installed. This seems like a really quality product and the instructions are very clear. I love that there is still a physical key slot and that the battery is rechargeable (note: charging cord does not come with the battery, but it’s a normal USB-C). All pieces are outlined in the instructions with no confusion points. You must download an accompanying app to finish setup/utilize the camera features. I saw another review mention that it came with a solar panel, I’m not sure if they had a different version, but the Veno Pro version I received does not come with a solar panel. It supports solar, but says it is sold separately. This is for our cabin in the mountains, and I didn’t check the dimensions ahead of time – look at the required space (I think it’s 3 inches) needed from the deadbolt handle to the door handle prior to purchasing, this may be the only issue I can think of, which I’ll see when I am able to install and will update.

Premium price for solar charging and palm print reading
I’ve tests over a dozen of smart door locks, none ever cost this much and most are in the $100 range, so I was eager to see what did the extra $200-$250 bring to the table. The exterior appearance is definitely nicer, but the housingmaterial is still the same zinc alloy type of pot metal and plastic, but the mounting bracket is heavy steel plates and weighs more than the cheaper locks, so that’s a plus. The install was straight forward, no difference there. The app is proprietary, but is well-developed it and sets up easy enough without any obvious bugs, but since its proprietary, it cannot manage other locks, so I think I prefer the TTlock or Smart Lock ecosystem for the simple reason that 1 app can control them all. Another shortcoming of this lock/app is that it does support wifi hub as far as I can tell, so that’s a big omission. Other than that, programming palms, fingerprints and passcodes are pretty much the same as any other smart lock. The palm recognition does seem to be more accurate than the fingerprint reading from cheaper locks, where I often have to do it more than once to get it recognized. Now lets talk about the solar power. A solar panel is provided to charge the lock. This may be a personal preference thing, but I personally don’t want to hang a solar panel permanently on my front door to charge the lock, not only does it look horrible, the cord also interferes with the door handle. Also, I’m pretty sure if you live in a HOA, no good will come of it with this solar panel. Also, becasue of the solar design, the USB-C charging port is on the exterior of the door, so if you choose to not use the solar panel, you can use portable power banks or wall chargers for phones to charge the lock, but they all have to hang on the outside of the door. I suppose that’s a good design so you don’t get locked out, but just know that if you only have a wall charger and no portable power bank, you will have to find an outlet on the outside with enough extension cord to reach the lock in order to charge it. No matter how I look at this, I just think regular or rechargeable lithium AA batteries would’ve been a better solution, many can last for a year with 1 set of alkaline, even longer with lithium. There is a reason why all other locks on the market adopted that design.I think most of the extra cost of this lock went into the solar charging system. Which I think is gimmicky and the worst feature of this otherwise fine lock. This would have been a 5-stars lock if it is a non-solar version at the $200 price range., but at $330, the only other unique feature is the palm print reading, which I think is an excellent improvement over fingerprints, but not sure if that’s worth the price premium.

Very nice
We got this for our front door because of the camera and the locking mechanism. Super nice to have a camera in the door lock. This lock was easy to install and set up. Once set up the locking mechanism and the camera both work very well for us. The picture is pretty clear and easy to see who’s at the door or what they are doing.I would for sure buy this system again with no issue at all.

Fantastic Doorbell Camera Lock
Easy to configure. One of the highest quality doorbell camera locks on the market. Setting things up in the app is a breeze. Great build and very sleek looking. Compatible with solar which is great. Overall this is definitely a hit.
