I picked up two of these sets of three small Spode Christmas tree small dishes that sit on a small wooden tray (or just on their own) this year – one to use for a gift, and the other one for myself. The small bowls are perfect for holiday gatherings, both for dips (as long you are not having a large crowd otherwise you would be refilling them all the time), but also would work well as nut bowls, condiment bowls or small sized candy dishes. I am really pleased at how nice this set looks. The Spode Christmas tree pattern is timeless, and these Spode dishes, while no longer made in England, placed alongside the older Spode Christmas tree china pattern, you really cannot tell them apart. The small wooden tray that comes with this set is very nicely made and finished. It has a darker stain to it and reminds me of either walnut or mahogany wood color. Each set also comes with three small wooden spoons as well. The spoons are stained the same as the tray and are also nicely done, though are more clunky in size, so when placed in the bowl, they seem to take up more space in the bowl itself than I like them too, so I probably will not actually use them but substitute them when actually serving things from these bowls. Overall, they would make a great gift for someone who does a lot of entertaining around the Christmas holidays.
