The Starry Night is an oil-on-canvas painting by the Dutch Post-Impression painter Vincent van Gogh. Painted in June 1889, it depicts the view from the east-facing window of his asylum room at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, just before sunrise, with the addition of an imaginary village. It has been in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City since 1941, acquired through the Lillie P. Bliss Bequest. Widely regarded as Van Gogh’s magnum opus.The Starry Night is one of the most recognized paintings in Western art.

Vincent Willem van Gogh (30 March 1853 – 29 July 1890) was a Dutch post-impression painter who posthumously became one of the most famous and influential figures in the history of Western art.

Excellent quality, tremendous appeal
I was looking for something for a blank spot over my couch when I saw this item advertised.My walls are a medium-light blue and I was already familiar with this work by van Gogh and its size was just about right.The fact that it was printed on stretched canvas was an added bonus as that wouldn’t reflect hot spots of light as prints framed with glass do in an area that is well lit.There was a little delay in getting the print, and when it arrived part of the backing was loose (a few staples had missed the wood). I tacked this back on with some small nails (thumbtacks or staples would also have worked). It came with a double hanging method that required the two hangers to be precisely aligned to make sure it hung level. I had experience with those before and ignored it and just put a traditional wire across the back. I used two wall hangers to assure stable positioning with the large size (40″ across).The print was packed securely, but the cardboard corner protectors adhered a tiny bit to the canvas, perhaps due to the heat (I live in the desert). However, a bit of wiping with a soapy sponge immediately removed that with no damage to the canvas or print.These were all the minuses.The positives far outweigh them.The print looks GREAT ! It is light weight so hanging was no problem. It is the perfect size for over the couch. It works perfectly with my blue walls. Some of my blue appears to be in the painting, a marvelous effect. It adds a dramatic touch. It is high quality for a reasonable cost (about $60). I could not be happier. I highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of this painting and needs a little impact on a blank wall.The only thing that could be better would be if the canvas included clear “brush strokes” to give it a more 3D effect, but I’m not quibbling. It’s exactly what I wanted and a fabulous addition to my living room.

Great price for a quality reproduction
My daughter asked for a Starry Starry Night painting in her room for Christmas. I had a big wall to cover, so I wanted a large version of the painting. I ordered the 39.5″x30″ and it was perfect for the wall I wanted to fill. Given the large and awkward shipping size, I was really happy with the price. The frame came in a box that padded it well and had no damage. It’s a good quality, but not super heavy. I was able to hang it with a large nail because I have an old house with solid wood under the dry wall. If you have regular dry wall, you might want to use a picture hanger or a wall anchor. This isn’t a super high end reproduction with texture to make it look like layers of paint, but I didn’t expect that for the price. It’s got a bit of a gloss/sheen over the canvas and the picture wraps around the edges of the frame so that it looks complete without a frame.

Good Piece, but Be Advised…
Independent review. Non-compensated and verified.**Warning to potential buyers**I’ve purchased 4 pieces from Wieco Art and was tremendously satisfied for the quality vs. price and gave them 5 stars. I had read some reviews saying the frame was warped, loose canvas, but I didn’t experience that until “Starry Night” arrived.As you can see in the photo (both pieces are Wieco), this particular painting is warped pretty badly on the left side. I decided not to return it due to the hassle and the fact that you really don’t notice it unless you know it’s there. I’ve had several compliments from rather judgmental people though so it’s here to stay! I just wanted to advise you that since these are mass-produced there is a chance, albeit a small one, that you’ll get some warped wood or loose canvas. In my opinion, it’s not worth a return on this one and if the canvas were loose it would be an easy repair with a needle nose pliers and a heavy duty stapler.Overall the quality is the same as my other paintings, with nice coloring, defined “brush strokes”, and just a tad too much overlap. The hanging brackets are sturdy and the staples well-placed and secure. A good buy for the money!Photos were not enhanced in any way. Natural light.

Pretty replica of one of my favorite paintings
If you’re a Van Gogh fan, this replica of “Starry Night” is awesome. I bought the 12”x16” so I didn’t have to hang it. It’s on my night stand. If you prefer to hang it on the wall it would be simple to do. The canvas is stretched over a wood frame and would easily hang from any hook or nail. I just purchased an easel stand so it will be propped up, giving it a nicer appearance. The colors are very rich and it is such a pretty addition to my room.

I had a cheap poster print of this painting and wanted to replace it with something nicer. The quality of this canvas reprint is amazing. The colors are very bright. I recommend buying it framed. The sleek square gold framing works perfect with the painting and gives it a grand look that is well deserved. The frame comes with 2 sawtooth picture hangers on the back that are also gold. I removed these though and hung it with command strips instead which was very easy.
